DIY Makeup Brush Cleaner
How many of y’all wash your makeup brushes at least a couple times a month? *crickets chirping* That’s what I thought… 😉
Makeup brushes should be cleaned often because they’re full of all kinds of grody grime like:
- old caked-on makeup
- general dirt and schmutz
- dead skin cells
- bacteria
- oils
…all nasties that can cause ZITS!
Clean brushes also feel nice and fluffy on the face! 😀 And you don’t need to pay top dolla for some fancy-packaged brush cleaner either. DIY it up at home for cheap, and get to cleaning, betches!
What You’ll Need:
- 2 parts Dr. Bronner’s Baby Castile Soap
- 1 part jojoba oil (or olive oil)
Mix these two ingredients together in a bowl. Rub your brush bristles in the mixture with your fingers until all the gunky buildup comes off. Rinse your brush under the faucet until it’s no longer sudsy, and gently squeeze excess water out or blot with a clean towel. If you can, let it air dry hanging upside down or at an angle so the water doesn’t loosen the glue at the base of the brush.
